2019 Men’s Blues Season Report

The Blues had a reasonably strong season in 2019, winning 9 out of 18 matches. Particular highlights including winning the Varsity t20 game against Oxford in a final-ball thriller, as well as beating Middlesex Premier League side Finchley, Minor Counties side Huntingdonshire and MCC in the 3-day match. Unfortunately strong bowling from Oxford led to defeats in the Lord’s Varsity match and the First Class, 4-day match.

Looking forward to 2020 (CUCC’s 200th Anniversary year), CUCC has high hopes after an exceptionally strong intake of new players, to add to a large number of experienced returning players. After 84 sign-ups for this year’s trials, competition for places will be strong.
