Women’s Varsity Match – 28th June 2022

The match will be played at Arundel Castle, starting at 11am. Spectators are welcome to this lovely venue and refreshments will be on sale. Details can be found here.

During the lunch interval, Roger Knight will be talking about his book Boundaries – copies of which will be on sale.

In this memoir Roger looks back on his fourteen years as a county cricketer in the 1970s and 1980s, including a spell at Sussex and six years as captain of Surrey. He also reflects on his later role in the “House of Lord’s” as Secretary of the MCC (1994-2006) and then as MCC President (2015-16).

Throughout his playing career, Roger also doubled during the winters as a schoolteacher and eventually headmaster, so Boundaries is not only about our beloved game and where it’s going but also about the game of life – written by a man who expounds his beliefs and values firmly yet with gentle humour.

Roger’s share of the profits is being donated to the MCC Cricket Foundation, which provides cricketing opportunities for talented youngsters in state secondary schools.

Roger will be in conversation with historian and author David Reynolds, who is Roger’s successor as President of CUCC.
