2023 Cricket Coaches

CUCC has appointed new coaches for 2023.

Sam Rippington will be working with our men and John Phelps will be working with our women.

Sam played for the Cambridge MCCU between 2017 and 2019, including 5 first class games. He we was joint captain in 2019. Sam also played some 60 matches for Cambridgeshire between 2015 and 2019. He is now a full time coach.

After Oxford and a career in the City, John has immersed himself in cricket and coarse angling. John is Chairman of Cambridge St Giles Cricket Club where he also plays and scores, between his Cambridgeshire Over-50s duties. John has also been a Director of Cambridgeshire Cricket, where he chaired the Youth Cricket Committee. John was also Chairman of the Cambridgeshire ECB Coaches’ Association.
